Ben Macnaghten ACA MRICS

Prior to founding Dunderave, Ben was Head of the Attestation (tax and accounting) and Expert Teams of Valuation Consulting, a boutique valuation firm with an established reputation for tax and specifically, HMRC compliant valuations.
He started working on valuations whilst at KPMG in their Private Equity Group, providing assurance over the valuations of mid-tier Private Equity houses investments and working on a number of transactions, before joining CVR Global (as acquired by Begbies Traynor) where he specialised in expert and advisory valuations in the context of insolvency, administration and restructuring engagements.

Mr Macnaghten was also the Chairman of VRG’s Litigation Committee in 2025 and has delivered numerous webinars, presentations, and authored published articles on business and share valuation related matters.
Prior to his involvement in valuations, he started his career at Moore Stephens (now part of BDO) where he trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Hugh Whitehead ACA

Hugh is a seasoned valuer with experience valuing the corporate investments of Private Equity and Venture Capital houses for portfolio and accounting purposes.
He first started working on valuations whilst at KPMG in their Private Equity Group, where he provided valuation assurance to LPA GAAP and IPEV requirements and guidelines, and has further experience valuing to IFRS and UK GAAP requirements.
Hugh has recently spent time working as an entrepreneur on a project to create a database on the ecology of cultivated plants, which he continues to work on alongside his role at Dunderave.
He started his career at Moore Stephens (now part of BDO) where he trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Bruce Powell MBE

Bruce is a Business Leader who is currently Chairman of an Art Market start up and Trustee of an Educational Charity.
Over the course of his long and distinguished business career, predominantly spent in the Information Technology and MedTech sectors, Bruce has held many senior finance, executive and non-executive positions, which has led to his involvement in numerous Private Equity and Venture Capital backed transactions and the public listing of companies on the LSE and on NASDAQ. He has also held many senior governance roles in the education sector, for which he was awarded MBE.
Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics and History from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant.
As a Senior Advisor to Dunderave, Bruce provides guidance on business generally and, given his experience in transactions, how deal processes work and so how value is determined in the real world.
